The Barren River is being destroyed by the City of Bowling Green,KY. The old growth trees on the bank of the river have been cut. This park creation is across the river from the water intake for the City of Bowling Green,KY and Warren County.
The area is planned to be developed into a kayak rental area, but the white water is inadequate for a kayaking sport site.
